Crowds and Activities at Yogyakarta Train Station Increase Ahead of Imlek and Isra Miraj Holidays

(Yogyakarta, DIY) As the long weekend for Imlek and Isra Miraj approaches, the crowd and activities at Yogyakarta's Tugu Train Station have increased significantly. According to KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, ticket sales for trains have surged during the holiday period. From January 24-30, 2025, a total of 93,703 train tickets have been sold, which is equivalent to 79% of the available capacity of 118,856 seats.

 

"The number of tickets sold is significant, and we expect the demand to continue until the end of the holiday period on January 30, 2025," said Krisbiyantoro, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, on Sunday (January 26, 2025).

 

The volume of train passengers at KAI Daop 6 has also increased significantly over the weekend. From Friday to Sunday (January 24-26), a total of 67,998 passengers departed from all stations, which is a 30% increase from the same period the previous week. Meanwhile, the number of arriving passengers during the same period reached 87,362, which is a 75.3% increase from the previous week.

 

KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta has also announced that several additional trains will operate until January 30, 2025. These include:

 

- KA 7003B (Yogyakarta-Gambir) departing at 18:20 WIB and arriving at 02:10 WIB

- KA 7015B (Solo Balapan-Gambir) departing at 21:50 WIB and arriving at 06:48 WIB

- KA 7023C (Solo Balapan-Bandung) departing at 20:40 WIB and arriving at 05:05 WIB

- KA 10907 (Lempuyangan-Pasarsenen) departing at 06:00 WIB and arriving at 13:55 WIB

- KA 7001B (Yogyakarta-Gambir) departing at 05:50 WIB and arriving at 13:17 WIB

- KA 7021D (Solo Balapan-Bandung) departing at 09:10 WIB and arriving at 19:03 WIB

 

Krisbiyantoro hopes that the remaining holiday period until January 30, 2025, can be utilized by the public to plan their trips using trains. "Please determine your departure date and book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid sold-out tickets, as demand is high," he said. (Raya Sanjiwani)
